Haug Repair & Services

About Haug Repair & Services

Morning in Whitehall starts with fog in the Trempealeau River valley, lifting slow off the water while the ridge farms above are already in full sun. Haug Repair & Services works those two elevations all summer — village lawns down along the river flats, yards up on the coulee roads where the hay light comes in sideways by six in the evening. The repair bench shows in the lawn work: machines maintained, cuts even, edges finished rather than merely done. Trempealeau County's hills make every lawn a little different, sloped and shaded in its own way, and figuring each one out is half the pleasure. The other half is the look of a valley yard, mowed and trimmed, just as the fog burns off.
