MCS Landworks

About MCS Landworks

February in Waupaca County has a color of its own — the blue half-hour before sunrise, snow squeaking underfoot, the county roads out toward Iola running white between the pines. MCS Landworks is already working by then. Plowing sandy-hill country means reading where the wind piles and where it scours: the drift at the top of a lane, the bare stretch that only wants a little treatment, the turnaround that has to stay wide enough for a delivery truck. Driveways get opened, walks get shoveled, and the ice spots get handled before anyone has to test them on foot. Then the sun comes up over a route already finished, which is the whole reward of a winter morning.
