Hanson's Landscaping

About Hanson's Landscaping

Half the back yards in Waukesha still have a bur oak in them, wide-crowned holdovers from the savanna that stood here before the streets did, and a lawn under one of those trees is its own particular problem — thin light, shallow roots, a mower that has to be handled with some sense. Hanson's Landscaping knows those yards. Mowing at the right height for shade, trimming carefully around trunks and exposed roots, edging beds and walks so the shape of the yard stays legible, and keeping the landscape around the house tended rather than overgrown. In autumn the same oaks drop for weeks on end, and the leaf cleanups run right up until the ground goes hard. Old trees, old neighborhoods, grass that keeps its footing under both.
