Kauffeld Tree Care

About Kauffeld Tree Care

Margarethe Schurz opened the country's first kindergarten in Watertown in 1856, and on a snowy school morning the city is still in the business of getting small children safely to the door. Kauffeld Tree Care handles snow removal here, blading driveways clear and shoveling the walks once a storm has passed. The Rock River winds through the middle of town, sending up wisps of steam at the coldest dawns while the streets around it lie buried. A good clearing is all clean geometry: a square-cornered drive, a sidewalk opened wide enough for two to walk abreast, the curb cut free so nobody has to climb a snowbank. When the school bell rings and the sidewalks fill with boots and backpacks, the walks are waiting, bare and dry.
