About Seidel Excavating Inc

Winter finds every grade in the Driftless — the long drives that climb out of the coulees, the ridge lanes where wind piles snow into a wall overnight. Seidel Excavating Inc pushes it back, plowing driveways and lots around Viroqua, opening walks, and putting down salt or sand wherever the slope wants to ice. On a hill the work is as much about where the snow goes as how it comes off, so that it doesn't slide back down by afternoon. The trucks are out before first light, and by the time the school buses run the drives are open. That is the measure of it: the way out is clear when somebody needs it.
