Kickapoo Lawn and Snow

About Kickapoo Lawn and Snow

Morning fog follows the Kickapoo River through Viola the way it has forever, lifting off the water to show the ridges of the Driftless all around. Kickapoo Lawn and Snow works inside that geography year-round — mowing valley-floor lawns and hillside yards in the green months, then plowing the same steep drives when winter grips the coulees. Snow behaves differently in this country; it slides and shadows and lingers on the north slopes, and clearing it well means knowing each driveway's particular argument with gravity. Summer asks the opposite skill: patient mowing on ground that is rarely flat, finished with edges that hold their line. From Viola the routes run to La Farge, Readstown, Soldiers Grove, and Richland Center.
