About Steven R Bassett Inc.

A June morning in Verona starts wet — dew on everything, mist sitting low where the Military Ridge trail heads out of town toward the ridges. Steven R Bassett Inc. waits for the grass to dry, then begins: mowing, trimming around posts and beds, edging where turf meets concrete. Lawns grow fast here in early summer, fed by thunderstorms that pile up over the farmland and break by suppertime, so the week has a rhythm and the mower keeps it. The reward comes right after — the even stripe, the crisp edge, a yard that smells of cut grass and holds that smell until evening. Straightforward lawn care in a town that still remembers it was dairy country.
