Mason's Mowing

About Mason's Mowing

A mowed lawn is a drawing, if you think about it: light and dark bands laid down by which way the blades were bent. Mason's Mowing draws them on Verona yards all summer — cutting on a rhythm, trimming what the mower cannot reach, edging the concrete so the grass stops in a line, sweeping the walk after. There is a fifteen-minute stretch on a late-June evening when the sun is low and a fresh-cut yard looks like it was pressed with an iron. Add feeding, weed control, seed in the worn spots and the seasonal cleanups, and a plain rectangle of grass turns into something worth looking at from the sidewalk. A simple trade, done attentively.
