About Jacobson Outdoors

The Namekagon slides past Trego black and quick between its snowbanks, and at five in the morning Jacobson Outdoors is often the only thing moving on the river road. Winter is the season this outfit is built around: plowing driveways and cabin lanes through Washburn County pine country, clearing walks, banking the snow high and square. This corner of the state takes its winters seriously — a foot, then another foot on top of it — so the plowing is less an event than a practice. The crew keeps the practice. When the sun finally comes up orange through the pines, the routes are open and the county is already at work.
