Tilden is open township country — section roads, dairy farms, Duncan Creek working its way down toward Chippewa Falls — and in winter the wind owns all of it. Jilek Land Service answers with iron: plow trucks out in the dark, driveways and farm lanes cleared while the yard lights are still on. Snow out here doesn't just fall, it travels, ribboning across the fields and rebuilding itself behind every pass, so the work is as much about return trips as first ones. The crew stays with it until the route holds. Morning finds the township passable, mailboxes reachable, chores possible — which is what the service is for.
