About Bauer’s LLC

Four in the morning in February, and the quarry country west of Milwaukee is all blue shadow — Lannon stone buried under a foot of new snow, the trucks out well before anybody's alarm. Bauer's LLC keeps Sussex driveways and walks open on nights like that, pushing the banks back and treating the ice that forms where a drive dips and the meltwater sits. The point of it all is the moment a garage door goes up at six and the pavement is simply there, black and passable. Come April the same ground turns soft and green, and the work shifts to mowing, trimming and hauling the winter's grit out of the beds. Sussex asks for both halves of the year, and the plows and mowers trade places accordingly.
