About Les Manske & Sons Inc

Winter on this stretch of the Mississippi has its own spectacle — eagles working the open water below Genoa, bluffs white to the rim, the river locked and quiet past Stoddard. It also has its labor, and that is where Les Manske & Sons Inc comes in. When the snow lands on the Great River Road country, the plows roll: driveways cut into the coulees, village lots, the steep approaches that Vernon County terrain deals out without apology. Grades like these leave no room for guesswork, so the passes are deliberate and the sand and salt go where the tires will need them. By daylight the routes are open, the banks are squared, and the river valley can get on with its winter.
