Kastern Contracting

About Kastern Contracting

Solon Springs stands at a parting of the waters: a short portage separates streams bound north for Lake Superior from the headwaters of the St. Croix, which wind south toward the Mississippi. Voyageurs once carried canoes over that divide, trading one watershed for another on foot. Kastern Contracting does its own share of clearing the way. Through the long Douglas County winters it handles snow removal, freeing drives and garage aprons after the drifts close in, and when the frost lets go it moves on to lawn care, mowing and trimming as the grass returns. Every job ends with a clear path where there was none, much like that old trail between two great waters.
