About Skabroud’s Lawncare & Trucking LLC

Sheldon sits where Highway 73 crosses the Jump River, a village small enough that every yard faces open country. Skabroud's Lawncare & Trucking LLC works that country in both of its tempers — mowing and trimming lawns through the long green stretch of a Rusk County summer, then plowing snow when the wind stacks it across driveways and farm lanes. There is a particular satisfaction in a lawn cut clean to the fence line while the river glints beyond it, and another in a driveway opened to bare gravel while the sky is still the color of steel. The trucks run in every season because the work never really stops here; it only changes clothes. From Sheldon out toward Gilman, Jump River, and Ladysmith, the rule is the same: leave it better than the weather left it.
