Black Otter Lake sits right in the middle of Seymour, and the town more or less arranges itself around that water. Big Boys Landscape & Snow Services works both halves of the calendar around it — mowing, trimming, edging and landscape upkeep while the park benches are full, plowing and salting once the pond glazes over. Winter arrives here across open farmland with nothing much to slow it down, so drives get opened early and kept that way. There's real pleasure in the swap: the last leaf hauled off in November, the first blade dropped a week or two later. Seymour, Black Creek, Nichols and Freedom make up the run.
