East of Rice Lake the Blue Hills stand up out of the farmland, old worn rock that catches weather and holds the cold, and when a real snow comes it does not come politely. L&L Excavating meets it with iron — pushing out driveways and lots, breaking down the packed banks a smaller machine cannot move, hauling snow off when there is nowhere left to stack it.
