About B & D Services

West of Rice Lake the fields open up, and when the wind gets behind a snowfall it carries it sideways across the highway and stacks it wherever it finds a windbreak. B & D Services plows into that — driveways, farmyard approaches, business lots — and comes back when the drifts rebuild, because out here they always rebuild. The work is measured in headlights and hard-packed ridges pushed to the far corner where they will not steal the parking come February. A cleared approach on a January morning is a small, solid thing: the car goes out, the day starts. That is the whole of what B & D is after in Rice Lake and the towns around it.
