About Rods Landscape & Maintenance LLC

Noon in July, and the heat shimmers off Highway 23 where it runs out of Reedsburg through dairy country toward the Dells. Rods Landscape & Maintenance LLC is at work in it — cutting and trimming, borders squared, beds shaped, the truck parked in whatever shade a yard has to offer. This is a town that throws a festival for butter, and it tends its lawns with the same plain seriousness. By evening the mown yards give off that cut-grass smell that carries the length of a street. Then it is on to the next one, out across the ridge and river towns.
