Angel Landscape And Snow

About Angel Landscape And Snow

Douglas Avenue runs two calendars at once. From April to October it is mowing and beds and hedges, the smell of cut grass drifting past the storefronts while the lake keeps the afternoons a few degrees kinder than anywhere inland. From November on it is the plow route in the dark — walks cleared to bare concrete, salt down before the school buses turn the corner. Angel Landscape And Snow carries both halves of the Racine year without letting either slip, landscaping through the green months and snow removal through the white ones. There is a particular pride in being the same truck a street sees in July and again in January.
