About IBA LLC.

January nights in Portage go still and brutally clear, the cold sinking into the river bottoms while snow keeps drifting down through the streetlights on Cook Street. IBA LLC. works while the town sleeps — plowing drives and lots, opening walks and doorways, laying salt and sand where the ice sets in hardest. The aim is simple and absolute: pavement a person can walk on and a drive a car can back out of, ready before the alarm clocks go off. Wind out of the northwest fills in what was cleared an hour ago, so some nights the route gets run a second time. Morning comes, the lots are open, and nobody has to give it a thought.
