About Small Axe Outdoor Services

In October the tamaracks around Plum Lake flare gold, and the state forest lands around town begin shedding leaves onto every lawn and path. Small Axe Outdoor Services answers that turn with lawn care and outdoor upkeep sized for Northwoods properties, where yards are carved from the forest rather than laid over it. Raking out the leaves, taking the grass down one last time, tidying the margins of the clearing: each task readies the ground for the long winter ahead. Small jobs, finished one after another, add up to a yard that sits tidy beneath the birches. When the first flakes drift down over Sayner, the yard can sleep.
