About Mattie's LLC

When the wind comes hard out of the northwest it doesn't only snow here, it moves snow — filling road cuts and stacking drifts across the open ground east of Platteville. Mattie's LLC plows driveways and clears walks through that, then comes back when the wind has undone the first pass, because in open country it usually does. By April the fields go white to mud to green in about three weeks and the work turns to mowing, trimming and clearing away everything the season piled up. Both halves come down to the same habit: showing up when the weather says to. There is a real pleasure in one driveway sitting black and open while everything around it isn't.
