Kemp & Son's Lawn and snow

About Kemp & Son's Lawn and snow

Onalaska grew up as a river-and-sawmill town, and its older streets still run down toward the water like they have somewhere to be. The first real snow of the year always seems to come at dusk, streetlights catching it as it fills the drives an inch at a time — and that is when Kemp & Son's Lawn and snow goes to work, plowing, shoveling walks, spreading ice melt at the porch steps. By spring the routes are the same routes, only greener: weekly mowing, trimming, and cleanups that carry off everything the thaw uncovered. Snow or grass, it comes down to a place that looks looked-after when you pull in.
