About Thor Fischer Concrete LLC

February in Neenah is a flat gray sheet — shanty villages parked out on the ice of Lake Winnebago, spearing season underway, and a wind that finds every seam in a coat. Thor Fischer Concrete LLC spends those weeks on the driveways, aprons and walks of town, plowing them down to the surface and treating the low spots where an afternoon thaw sneaks back and locks up again overnight. Freeze and thaw is the local rhythm, and it is exactly what separates a drive you can walk across from one you cannot. Full width gets held all season long, so the banks never creep in and steal the turning room by March. The pleasure in it is small and genuine: a clean apron, a walk you can take at a normal stride, a car that pulls in without a fight.
