About Steve HDS Inc

Neenah has iron in its bones — the town's name is cast into grates and covers in cities that have never heard of it — and something of that shows up in a machine that rolls out at two in the morning because a clipper dropped down out of the northwest. Steve HDS Inc keeps the storm's clock instead of the calendar's, running driveways and lots while the streets are still empty and the streetlights are the only color for blocks. Snow gets pushed where it belongs, and the hard-packed corner by the garage door gets broken up and treated before it can turn into a rink. There is real satisfaction in a lot that reads swept at sunrise, curb to curb, the painted lines showing again. Wisconsin will send another one by Thursday, and that is fine — the plow is already fueled.
