The All Season Boss

About The All Season Boss

Come a Thursday evening in July, the band is tuning up in Shattuck Park and half of Wisconsin Avenue drifts over with folding chairs — and nearly every yard between downtown and the edge of town has been cut sometime that week. The All Season Boss does that steady, unshowy work: mowing at the height that carries grass through a hot stretch, trimming around posts and mailboxes, blowing the sidewalks clear so the walk is tidy by dark. Beds get mulched in the spring, borders get edged back into shape, and the leaves get hauled off when the oaks finally give up in November. It is lawn care for Neenah and the towns around it, house by house, week by week. The measure of a day here is plain enough: walk out to the street, look back, and see whether the lines run true.
