Bret Achtenhagen's Seasonal Services

About Bret Achtenhagen's Seasonal Services

April arrives in Mukwonago as a slow lift of fog off the river bottoms, and the grass answers before anything else does. Bret Achtenhagen's Seasonal Services meets that first green with mowers ready — the season's opening pass over lawns still soft from the thaw. Spring cleanups pull winter's litter of oak twigs and matted leaves out of the beds, and by the second cut the lines already read straight from the road. Fertilization and weed control follow the calendar the way the Mukwonago River follows its channel: unhurried, and on course. It is lawn care built around a Waukesha County year — work that begins in mud and ends, months later, in a lawn worth crossing barefoot.
