Pretty Pooped

About Pretty Pooped

Late October up here is one long haul — oak leaves down all at once, sumac gone red along the ditches, and every lawn between town and Hazelhurst asking to be cleared before the ground locks. Pretty Pooped turns up for it, mowing and trimming through the green months, then raking, blowing and carting off the fall cleanup, then plowing drives and clearing walks once the color is gone and white has the run of things. The name is honest about how a good day ends. So is the yard: cut even, edges tight, leaves gone — or, come January, a drive opened wide enough to swing the truck around in. Worn out is fine when a place looks like that.
