About Driftless Outdoor Services Inc.

The glaciers stopped short of this corner of Wisconsin, which is why the land around Mineral Point still rises and drops the way water carved it rather than the way ice would have smoothed it. Driftless Outdoor Services Inc. mows the terraced yards under Merry Christmas Mine Hill, where a lawn can change grade three times between the sidewalk and the back fence and every pass has to be planned instead of simply driven. Late August is the honest test: heat sitting in the valleys, growth pushing hard after a thunderstorm, and a whole town of odd-shaped yards wanting mowing, trimming, and edging in the same week. The trimmer does what the deck cannot, along stone walls and steep shoulders and the awkward strip behind the garage. Cleanups follow when the season turns, leaves and spent growth carried off. What lasts is the shape of a place made legible again, hill and all.
