Two Boys & a Lawnmower

About Two Boys & a Lawnmower

Saturday mornings in Merrill sound like small engines — mowers waking up under the silver maples one street at a time, a whole neighborhood getting its weekly haircut. Two Boys & a Lawnmower is part of that sound from May to October: mowing, trimming, edging, and hauling off the piles spring and fall reliably produce. When the season flips they flip with it, plowing driveways and clearing walks so a snowfall does not become somebody's entire weekend. Central Wisconsin gives a yard about five good growing months and then takes them back, and both stretches deserve the same care. The satisfaction is the plainest kind — a yard that looks sharp on Sunday, a drive that is open Monday.
