Bringing U Miracles

About Bringing U Miracles

Downtown Merrill wears a storm well — brick storefronts along Main, the courthouse dome gone soft-edged, streetlights turning the falling snow orange at two in the morning. Bringing U Miracles is out in it, plowing lots and drives, cutting walkways down to pavement, treating the places that refreeze before they have finished melting. Central Wisconsin snow can come wet and heavy off one system and dry and drifting off the next, and each asks for a different pass. The hours run backwards from everyone else's morning, so the work is finished by the time the first cars come down the hill. There is a plain pleasure in that: a lot at dawn that looks like the storm simply skipped it.
