About Happy Hen Landscape LLC

West of Menominee the town gives out quickly into farm country, and on an August morning the fog sits in the low ground between hayfields until the sun finds it. It's open land, generous with sky, and the yards in it are big ones that reward a straight line and a clean edge. Happy Hen Landscape LLC mows and trims through the growing months, keeps the beds and borders in order, clears the leaves when the maples along the fence rows give them up, and returns with a plow once the fields go white and start moving snow across the road. There's a plainspoken pleasure in a place kept well: grass cut even, walks clear, the driveway open to the road no matter what came down overnight. Menominee County has always been the sort of country where that counts for something.
