About Avant Gardening & Landscaping

South of the village the Waubesa Wetlands turn copper in October, tamarack going gold, sandhill cranes calling low across the sedge. On the dry side of that line, Avant Gardening & Landscaping keeps McFarland lawns mowed and trimmed and rakes the season's fallen leaves back into order. Then the marsh locks up, the sky goes hard and white, and the work becomes plowing and shoveling — drives opened, walks scraped down to the concrete. A yard put to bed carefully in November is a gift to itself come April. That patience is most of the trade.
