Handelbar Performance

About Handelbar Performance

On the worst nights, the snow comes into Mazomanie sideways off the Wisconsin River bottoms, and plowing becomes less a chore than a contest. Handelbar Performance shows up for that contest gladly. The truck rolls when the storm does — midnight, three a.m., whenever the radar says go — cutting drives and lots open, then circling back to beat the drifts rebuilding along the fencerows. Salt goes down where the hill streets pitch toward the valley. By the time the school buses run Highway 14, the town's pavement is black and done arguing with winter.
