Lance's Lawn Service

About Lance's Lawn Service

Each fall the sky over Mayville fills with geese, long ragged lines of them dropping toward the Horicon Marsh next door. Lance's Lawn Service works the city on the same calendar the birds keep. In spring, when the flocks head north again and the lawns green up, the mowing begins; when they gather to leave and the wind swings around behind them, the work turns to snow removal. Grass cut clean in July, a drive cleared down to the pavement in January: the yard keeps time right along with the marsh.
