Buechler's Snowplowing

About Buechler's Snowplowing

Snow that crosses Green Bay arrives in Marinette carrying the water's own weight in it, wet and quick to stack against a garage door. Buechler's Snowplowing runs while the town is still asleep, opening driveways and clearing walks so the first car out toward Hall Avenue meets pavement instead of a drift. Banks are set back from the mailbox and the turnaround, and salt goes down where ice glazes over after a thaw. There is a particular satisfaction in a plowed drive at first light, straight-sided, the black of it steaming a little in the cold. By the time the coffee is poured, nobody has to think about the storm at all.
