About License to Chill

Manitowoc is the town where a piece of Sputnik came down out of the sky onto North Eighth Street, so it keeps a decent sense of humor about the improbable. License to Chill leans into that with the name and then backs it with plain work: mowing, trimming and edging lawns through the warm months, plowing and clearing snow once the lake starts sending it inland. September is the hinge — the grass slows, the air sharpens, and everybody begins thinking about the driveway. Covering both ends of the year means one call carries a property from the first cut to the last plow. The joke is in the name; the straight lines are out in the yard.
