Deck Ice Melt

About Deck Ice Melt

The hardest mornings in Manitowoc are not the blizzards. They are the ones when lake fog rolls up the bluff overnight and freezes onto every back step, deck board and walk in town, silver and nearly invisible. Deck Ice Melt handles snow removal for homes and businesses here — clearing drives, walks and steps so the path from the door to the car is a path and not a decision. Winter along this shore alternates between heavy snow off the water and thaw-and-refreeze that glazes everything twice a week. The work comes down to this: get there, open it up, make the ground safe to stand on.
