Yard On Par

About Yard On Par

Lakewood is a clearing town in the Nicolet National Forest, where lawns are carved out of maple and hemlock and the air smells of the woods no matter the month. Yard On Par cuts those clearings to a standard the name gives away — fairway-flat, tee-box tidy, every pass even. Grass this deep in the forest gets a short season and makes the most of it, so summer mowing keeps a brisk pace, with trimming and cleanup filling the corners of the week. Around the lakes and cabin roads of this piece of Oconto County, a well-kept yard reads like a green against the tree line. Par here is a lawn you'd putt on.
