Wozniak Lawn and Snow

About Wozniak Lawn and Snow

January mornings the Mississippi smokes — river fog rolling up past Riverside Park where three rivers come together, hoarfrost furring every wire in town. Wozniak Lawn and Snow is out ahead of it, plowing drives back down to pavement, shoveling stoops and walks, spreading salt where ice sets up hardest at the apron and the foot of a slope. There is a particular satisfaction in a driveway cleared before its owner has found the coffee. By May that same ground is growing hard, and the work turns to mowing, trimming and carting the cleanup out. Two trades, one address, and the same standard either way: nothing half-done, nothing left lying in the yard.
