Scapeland

About Scapeland

Halfway Creek slips through Holmen under a line of willows, and the newer streets nearby were laid across old sand prairie that grows grass in a hurry once April warms. Scapeland keeps those yards cut, trimmed and edged all season, then turns to plowing and clearing walks when the valley locks up in December. A young lawn on sandy ground needs steady attention more than anything clever, and steady is the offer. In winter the same driveways get opened early, the banks pushed back square so the next storm has somewhere to go. It is one property, watched all the way around the calendar.
