Alta Lawn Care

About Alta Lawn Care

Morning comes early on the bluff side of town, sun cresting the ridge above Hixon Forest and running downhill across the yards while the dew is still heavy. Alta Lawn Care meets it there — mowing, trimming, edging and hauling off the clippings — on lawns that pitch downhill and never quite lie flat. This corner of Wisconsin was never flattened by ice, which is why La Crosse yards have grade and character, and why a mowing line here has to be earned. Cut a slope right and the whole lot looks intentional, the passes following the land instead of fighting it. By the time the heat settles into the valley, the crew is on the next street and the first one is drying quietly in the sun.
