Midsummer in central Wisconsin gives you light until nearly nine. Ashton mows uses it. On July afternoons, when the thunderheads stack up west of the Wisconsin River and everyone is watching the sky, there is still a route to finish — mowing, string trimming, edging, clearing the clippings off the walks. The grass here comes on in a rush after rain and then sulks through the dry stretch of August, and reading that swing is most of the job. Kronenwetter yards, and the streets over in Mosinee, Rothschild and Weston, get cut on time either way.
