Big Ed’s Lawn Services

About Big Ed’s Lawn Services

In October the old maples along the Fourth Ward's porch-lined blocks let go all at once, and the mowers give way to rakes and blowers. Big Ed's Lawn Services keeps the grass level through the growing months — cut, trimmed, edged, the clippings carried off — then follows the calendar straight into plowing and shoveling once Janesville's first real storm arrives off the prairie. Winter here does not ask permission; it turns up overnight and leaves a foot on the walk. The pleasure is in getting there early, in a stoop swept bare and a driveway open end to end. Same yards, same routes, a different tool in hand.
