Race's Lawn Service

About Race's Lawn Service

Grafton grew up around moving water — the race, the dam, the drop in the river that turned wheels here before it turned anything else. Race's Lawn Service works the dry ground above all that, mowing through the deep of July when the grass grows faster than anyone quite believes. A good cut in that heat means a sharp blade, a deck set high, and a pattern laid down so the lawn reads in bands from the street. Then the trimmer around every post and stone, the edge along the walk, and the blower until the drive is clean enough to cross barefoot. Grafton, Cedarburg, Mequon, Thiensville and Saukville are all on the list.
