About Downs Landscaping

In Gordon the first real snow of November often arrives softly, big flakes sifting down through the pines while the lakes go still and gray and the northwoods brace for the long haul. Downs Landscaping, a landscaping business, works this country in both of its moods: snow removal through a winter that can stretch from late fall deep into spring, and lawn care through the short, bright summer that follows. In the cold months the job is open drives and clear paths under heavy northern snow; in the warm ones it is lawns mowed and trimmed among the pines. Up here every season asks a lot of a property, and a place that looks cared for in both is a quiet point of pride. Fresh-cut yard in July or plowed lane under a January moon, Downs leaves it right.
