The Tree Guys

About The Tree Guys

Some of the biggest snows in Walworth County ride the storm track that hugs the Illinois border, and Genoa City catches them full. The Tree Guys spend those nights on plow duty, working the drifted driveways and lanes around town while the porch lights burn small against the dark. It is patient work — push, back, angle, push again — done until the banks are stacked clean and the pavement shows black. Shovels handle the steps and walks; salt handles what the shovels leave behind. By sunrise the town is passable again, and the only sign of the night's effort is that everything simply works.
