Spring Green

About Spring Green

Adams County keeps two calendars, and Spring Green works them both. From the first soft weeks of April it is mowing and trimming for the lawns tucked among Friendship's jack pines and oaks, coaxing color out of sandy ground and holding a clean edge along every drive. When the year swings cold, the same crew hangs up the mower and hitches the plow, clearing snow and treating ice on the very driveways it cut all summer. There is a satisfaction in serving a place the year round — knowing each yard's low spots in June and its drift lines in January. The backroads between Friendship and Arkdale are the commute, and the work is the point.
