About Griffith Tree Service Inc

North of Friendship the sandstone stands straight up out of the sand plain, a wall of rock with jack pine growing along its rim. Griffith Tree Service Inc works the country underneath it, the oaks and pines in the yards around town and the lots out toward Castle Rock, where sandy soil grows a tree quickly and does not hold it especially well. Removal, trimming and pruning all turn on that trade: keeping what the wind will let you keep, and letting go of what it will not. Adams County thunderstorms come across open marsh and leave whole tops lying in the driveway, and hauling them out is where the job actually ends. When it is finished the sun reaches the yard again and the bluff is back in view from the porch.
