And of Gideon Lawn Care

About And of Gideon Lawn Care

Morning fog lifts slowly out of the Rush River valley near Ellsworth, and when it goes, it leaves the grass silvered and the whole of Pierce County looking newly made. And of Gideon Lawn Care starts its rounds in that hour, mowing and tending yards through the village and the farm country that rolls away from it in every direction. This is driftless-edge ground, all rises and swales, and mowing it well means working with the land instead of over it. The care shows in the finish — contours followed cleanly, trim carried right to the fence posts, walks left spotless. A yard done that way holds its good looks all week, which around Ellsworth is exactly long enough, because the crew will be back.
